So there is much updating that needs to be done... My birthday went amazing... we went to temple square to look at all the pretty christmas lights, but we didn't have to walk! Tyler bought me a ride in a horse drawn carriage to ride me all around temple square and the pretty decortated parts of SLC.. it was wonderful! My terms papers went great! (well except for one.. I got a C but thats because I was just sick of the class and wanted to be done.. the other 2 I got As and 2 As on final projects as well in other classes) My baby shower was also amazing I have really wonderful friends out here... I got soooo many cute presents for Lydia and now I have a scrapbook for her to put pictures in (that was the activity we did at my baby shower instead of doing the silly games everyone does) Everyone that was at my baby shower made atleast a page or two to put into the scrapbook and now the scrapbook pages even have meaning! So this week is finals and I think I should be ok... I have already taken one and feel as if I got around a B (it was fill in the blank, listing, short answers, and 2 four paragraph essays) I have 1 take home final I have to finish which isnt going to be hard.. and then 3 multiple choice finals I have to take... Yesterday I was going to take 1 but................
(This is where I will begin the whole hospital trip) Yesterday morning I woke up feeling just... off... there wasn't really anything I could put my finger on just something wasn't right... Normally I am woken up around 5:00 by Lydia kicking me which prepares me for the alarm clock to go off at 5:10... But yesterday I woke up because of the alarm clock. I thought nothing of it and just assumed I slept through her kicking or that she just decided to sleep in. I woke up drank a whole thing of Propel water and off we were to work. Always after I eat or drink anything she always kicks so I normally feel her on the way to work as well.... again no kicks or movement or anything on the way to work... I began to think she must have been really tired. We get to work and thats when my pain starts... I have probably the easiest job at the MTC, I just cut fruit but yesterday was especially easy because dinner from the day before cut too much fruit and had a ton extra so I didn't have to cut any fruit I just scooped it out of their white bins and put it into our black breakfast bins, so no hard work at all.. and all of a sudden I get this HORRIBLE pain in my lower back... like this cramping pain that lasted a while and then went away.. my back was still sore from the cramping but atleast the horrible pain had gone away... this happened off and on the whole time I was working.. after work a few friends of mine and tyler ate breakfast there and my back cramping happened on and off the whole time... still no movements from lydia.. at this point it had been atleast 4 hours of her not moving and I was getting a tad bit worried but nothing huge... I thought she would start moving because I had just eaten.. Well tyler drove me up to campus so I could study for my one final and then take it and when I was studying I kept getting these horrible back pains again.. like it almost allowed me to not walk.. after about 2 more hours of this and no lydia moving I decided to call the OB.. I'm not fond of the receptionsists there but love the nurses and Dr... I asked to speak with a nurse to see if this was normal and the receptionist said she would give the nurse a message and a nurse would call me back... Well I guess she only wrote down I was having back pains and not that I haven't felt my baby move in 6 hours because I had to call back in an hour to see if someone was going to call me back... at that point I was very angry, and scared and crying so I think she got the hint that I NEEDED to talk to a nurse.. I told the nurse what was going on and she immediately told me to go to Labor and Delivery at the hospital now! Which scared the POOP out of me!! So here I am on BYU's campus in a bathroom in the student center bawling my eyes out thinking theres something majorly wrong with my baby... I have to call the MTC to talk to Tyler and I was like "GET TO THE WILK NOW! WE HAVE TO GO TO THE HOSPTIAL! NOWWWWWWWW!!!" Hes like what?!? what is going on.. I then yelled at him because I was so stressed and freaking out "I WILL TELL YOU WHEN YOU GET HERE!! JUST RUNN AND SPEED!!!" So he comes to pick me up and I'm still bawling and bawling... We get to the hospital and I tell them whats going on.. they rush me into a labor and delivery room and put fetal heart monitors on me and a contraction detector thing... Lydias heart beat was perfectly fine (which was great) but I was having contractions (which was that HORRIBLE pain I was feeling in my back) THey of course needed to know why I was having these contractions so early... so I get rushed down to radiology for an ultrasound ( I got to cut infront of everyone which never happens) and they had to check Lydia's placenta for aminotic fluid levels.. they were 11 cm which is low but they don't worry about full on labor until it gets to 6 cm... So I get taken back to the labor and delivery room and have to give a urine sample which shows I have some kind of internal infection (bladder or kidney) that is causing me to have contractions.. so they immediately give me a shot of something that starts with a T to stop the contractions because the more contractions I have I will become dilated and go into pre-term labor which we don't want... they then hook me up to an IV and give me fluids and antibiotics... after a while my contractions were getting less and less (less often and less strong) but I was still having them so I got another shot of that medicine and that seemed to clear them up but I had to stay in the hospital for 2 hours after contractions had stopped.. We were there a long time... But it was worth it because if not and I would have ignored it I would have gone into full labor and that wouldn't have been good at 33 weeks...
So that was our day yesterday!! Just thought I would update everyone!! Love you all and more updates will be coming!
Tyler, Brittni, and healthy and now safe Lydia
